PeriShip Weekly Weather Outlook – 5/31/15 to 6/6/15

National Weather Outlook
Unlike previous weeks, large storm systems will not be present in the South as much as they will be in other regions.  A large storm system bringing ample amounts of rain and thunderstorms will stretch from the tip of Maine to Florida, to parts of southern Texas. Smaller storm systems will be scattered throughout the West and Northwest bringing rain.

Going into Tuesday and Wednesday, the large storm system in the East will decrease in size and bring more thunderstorms to the Southeast, especially in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida.  Scattered storm systems in the Northwest will come together as one large storm system and will move north towards the Dakotas and Minnesota. The Northeast will also clear up with the exception of Maine, which will still experience rain.

The Northeast will clear up entirely as we head into the end of the week. Storm systems will continue in the Southwest and Northern parts of the US. Heavy thunderstorms can be anticipated in Florida and Minnesota.

**Note: Although Texas is not experiencing heavy rainfall this week, last week’s heavy rain and flooding continues to impact the local transit network. Some areas may experience a backlog of freight and will be delivered as situation permits.
