National Weather Outlook

This week we are saying goodbye to August… a fast summer that was! To begin the week, a large storm system will cover much of the Southeast and Midwest, especially Florida, from Tropical Storm Erika bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms. Smaller and scattered storm systems will be present in the West and Northwest of the country bringing rain.

As we head into Monday and Tuesday, the Southeast will continue to experience rainfall and thunderstorms while the rainfall in the Midwest will decrease. The small storm systems in the west will move eastward forming primarily in Colorado. Southern Texas will experience rainfall and thunderstorms as well.

Closing out the week, anticipate much of the East coast, from Florida to New Hampshire, to experience heavy rainfall in addition to thunderstorms. Southern Texas will continue to see rain and thunderstorms.

**Note: Tropical Storm Erika – Erika is currently located in the Caribbean Sea and tracking North, Northwest. The current forecast track has Erika making landfall in South Florida early Monday morning as either a Category 1 Hurricane or as a Tropical Storm. Forecast models indicates different landfalls locations and intensity ranging from Tropical Storm to Hurricane Category 1 strength.  Based on current forecast, we are anticipating localized weather events that may impact pickup and delivery operations in the days ahead for markets in Florida. The next update is schedule for Monday 8.31 @ 8 A.M.

New York/NJ: Overall sunny weather throughout the week with possible thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday.
Operational Impact: Slight

Memphis: Mostly cloudy skies throughout the week. Temps can reach low 90s.
Operational Impact: Minimal

Indianapolis: Chance of a thunderstorm on Sunday. The rest of the week will be sunny and warm.
Operational Impact: Minimal

Oakland: Partly cloudy skies for most of the week. Temperatures will be between low and high 60s.
Operational Impact: Minimal

Fort Worth: Clear skies and warm temperatures throughout the week
Operational Impact: Minimal
